Flying a paramotor is not so difficult as generally is thought. Ten to twelve hours of instruction lessons are enough to learn flying a paramotor. Lessons are normally given by the different paramotor clubs and are sold at € 750 to € 1,000. At DSW, however, such lessons are free for the buyer(s) of a DSW paramotor. Instructors are André Collin - an experienced air pilot, having made more than 1200 flying hours - and the constructor Willy de Schepper himself. The lessons are much more than a simple instruction how to take off, how to hold the paramotor in the air in absence of thermal soaring, or how to come back on the ground. DWS learns the essentials of thermal soaring, how to hold the paramotor in the air after problems with the parachute, how to know where one can fly and where not, how to win stability in the air, etc. After the lessons the buyer receives an attest proving that he is able to fly a paramotor. Actually one waits that the national and international legislation homologates the private attests. Most paramotor clubs fight to obtain a decent legislation for all paramotors in the air. |

Most paramotor clubs are in favour of an official medical test to be passed at a Medical Centre added to a national or regional Office of Aviation Administration. For the moment this is not obliged, but it will probably be introduced once the international legislation of paramotor flying will be finished. An official homologation of the flying licenses is actually impossible, but may be expected as soon as the legislation is published. It is thus not excluded tat on a later date all holders of a private flying license can be obliged to pass an examination. DSW already anticipated on the expected new legislation by entring an official demand to homologate its paramotors of the types DSW MkIA, DSW MkIB and DSW MkII. Even the homologation for the DSW MkIII - not already on the market - and equipped with a 170 BHP Porsche motor instead of the classic 52 BHP ROTAX 503 has been scheduled. Please note that the Mk III will be able to take off after only 3 to 5 metres. DSW paramotors are build with love and great craftmanship for all those who love to enjoy the tremendous liberty of flying themselves at more than reasonable prices. |
